The plan...

Here it is...
Mike left for Malaysia today.  I leave Saturday.   Return on June 7 then family comes for graduation on June 9.  Tan graduates on June 13.  More family comes and will be here until late June.  June 28 is Jonas concert and saying goodbye.  July we'll be headed east, camping along the way with the boys (FUN!)   We'll spend July in MO and OK.  Returning in August, we'll finish up here and get Tanner settled before heading to Malaysia.  That's it!

Cousins weekend...it was great!

The last cousin left Tuesday :-(   It was sad to see them go.  I'll post the group photos when I get them.  Our friend Kip Steele, Julia's dad, hosted a wine tasting at his lodge.  It was incredible.  The rest of our time was spent in the city enjoying the food and sunshine.  Tuesday we headed to Alki Beach with Brian, Courtney, Nick, Beth, and Mallory.  The boys played in the sand and rode their bikes.  We miss everyone already...see you in KC in July!

Clever solution

Most know Bennett likes band-aids.  Yup, I know all kids do, but Bennett LOVES band-aids.  Auntie Michelle had the perfect solution to constantly being asked for a band-aid, cover him BEFORE we leave the house.  Nice.

A new wheel from Angela and Robbie

It's not the whole car, but it's a start!  This was Tan's graduation gift from Angela and Robbie. Still can't believe they hauled it from Atlanta!

Tanner posing with Uncle Brian and Cousin Robbie at the salmon hatchery in Issaquah.

The graduate

Bennett's pre-school graduation was Thursday.  Aunt Michelle was the first to arrive for cousins weekend and was able to join us.  She came bearing gifts, construction helmets for both.  They were a hit!

The pinata

Sadly, the video of Bennett's turn didn't turn out very well

This is why Tan loves Seattle (and refuses to leave)...

Matt, the one in glasses, is one of Tan's best Seattle friends.  He's the one that co-created Tan's band, Tantt.  We're just glad he's not with Kids Eat Bread anymore!

Outdoor Day

Ridge and Szemi got to join Bennett at school today.  Ridge had fun doing big boy things and Szemi enjoyed all the attention from Bennett's classmates.  Tomorrow is graduation, for Bennett, then pre-school is over.  Tanner is finished June 12.  In just a few month period I have one graduating high school, one going to kindergarten, and one going to pre-school.  Life seems to be flying at break-neck speed these days.

No nap...

Goodbye slugs!

As we prepare to leave Washington I think a lot about all the things we'll miss about the NW.  I won't miss slugs, but I'll miss watching them turn to slime when we pour salt them!

For perspective, that's my size 9 foot next to the slug!

This video was taken in April.  Spring here reminds me of the weather on LOST.  It's so bizarre.  Hail storms are the craziest.  The little balls aren't ice, but instead like tiny perfectly formed snow balls.  After this hail storm an enormous rainbow appeared.

Who has aged better?

I told Bennett that this car is the same age as me then asked who looked better for a 36 year-old.  I should have known he'd pick the Charger!  He said it looks better because it has flames and I'm all white.

We ended the day by watching hang-gliders off Squawk Mountain.  It looks like so much fun!  If only...

More great weekend photos...

Sunday after church we went to a car show in Issaquah.  The boys, all three, actually four, loved it.  I had fun watching them have fun and wondered what people with girls do on the weekend?  If you didn't know already, my little boys are obsessed with Rin Tin Tin.  At one point in the day Ridge started yelling and pointing..."It's Tin Tin Tin"!!!  Yep, there was a beautiful German Shepherd with a super nice owner who let us pet, snuggle and kiss her dog.  We had Szemi with us so the boys enjoyed showing her off too.  One thing I love about Washington is that so many people have dogs and warmly welcome them at human events.

Nice sunshiny weekend

We started our weekend off with a trip to the zoo with our friends, the Dodd girls.  Jennifer has FOUR daughters!  Kelsey was in school, but Lizzy, Olivia, Gracie and my boys all enjoyed a trip to the zoo.  It was such a good day...thanks Jennifer!  Oh, the picture of Gracie and Ridgley was taken as Gracie was yelling at Ridge to NOT TOUCH HER!  So funny.

A rare sighting on Mother's Day...

I guess we wore them out with the sunshine, activity, and musical last night.   This is the best Mother's Day gift ever!

Sunshine, horses, and tired kids!

The boys got to ride today!  The sun came out so we stayed outside all day.  Mike and our friend Brian worked on cars all day in the shop while Barb (Brian's lovely wife) and I sat in the sunshine and let the kids play around us.   We ended a great sunshine-filled day by taking the kids to see Music Man.  It was incredible!  *Note to Scully family:  pies are on the way...thanks!

Prom King?

Tanner is in the running for prom king at his school.  As my friend Colin put it, "he's an eighties movie success story".   You know, new kid with some weird factor (TCK), goes to new school, climbs the popularity ladder, gets the hot girl and wins prom king!  We'll see!  Anyway, this is a pic for the yearbook.  He chose to be goofy instead of serious...some things never change!  Who chose the funky green background?

Brothers

Why deny writing on your little brother when the evidence is so clear?

Mother's Day Brunch

Today was the Mother's Day brunch at Bennett's school.  The kids helped prepare a nice meal of the moms favorite foods.  Bennett put broccoli, bananas, and grapes on the menu for me!  Yum, yum!  Later in the brunch we were presented with the gifts and cards our little ones made for us.  In our cards each child wrote some cute facts about their mothers.  Here is what Bennett wrote about me:
What is a mother? a cooker, sewer, a reader and helper
My mom is 10 feet tall
My mom weighs 30 pounds
My mom has blue eyes
My mom has grey hair (added text: but she makes it brown every week!!!)
My favorite thing to do with my mom is: make projects

Note Bennett's lovely tie!  It was Tanner's when he was around the same age.  I kept it all these years because Tanner loved it so much.  Such memories!
